Guest lectures on British culture and literature were held at the Department of English Philology

Guest lectures on British culture and literature were held at the Department of English Philology of  Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University with the participation of Professor David Livingstone of Palacký University and Ian Zwaschka.

The meetings provided students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of British cultural and literary tradition while also seeing it through the prism of direct cultural experience. A feature of the lectures was the integration of academic material with musical elements, including performances of musical works on the banjo.

This format made the guest lectures dynamic and interactive. Music became a kind of bridge between theoretical material and cultural context, helping students better experience the peculiarities of British traditions, artistic heritage, and literary culture.

During the meetings, participants had the opportunity not only to listen to lectures but also to engage in direct communication with lecturers, thereby expanding their understanding of the culture of the country whose language they study professionally.

Guest lectures became a valuable educational experience for students in the Department of English Philology, as they provided an opportunity to combine the study of the English language and literature with direct exposure to the cultural and musical traditions of Great Britain.

The Department of English Philology thanks David Livingstone and Ian Zvoska for their engaging lectures, open communication, and the opportunity to participate in this academic format.
