Valentyna Yakubiv joined the international forum on higher education and innovation

On October 8–9, Valentyna Yakubiv, rector of  Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, participated in the international forum, the Western Balkans Forum on Higher Education and Innovation, which took place in the city of Pecs.

The forum brought together representatives of universities from the Western Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe to exchange experiences, develop international partnerships, and discuss current challenges and prospects for European higher education.

As part of the panel discussion “How can universities strategically prepare for EU accession,” Valentyna Yakubiv, together with university rectors from different countries, discussed practical steps for the European integration of higher education institutions, the development of international cooperation, and the possibility of implementing joint grant projects between universities of the European Union member states and countries preparing for accession.

The next day, the rector of the KNUVS joined the discussion “The Future of Universities in Central and Eastern Europe: Building and Dismantling the ‘Ivory Pyramid”. The participants focused on issues of university openness to society, institutional development, effective governance, and the formation of partnerships in education, science, and innovation.

An important component of the forum was meetings with representatives of partner universities of the EDUC alliance. They provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss current issues of cooperation, and outline the prospects for further joint initiatives.

Participating in the international forum strengthens Carpathian University’s position in the European educational and research space, expands our partner network, and advances scientific diplomacy. International dialogue lays the groundwork for new joint projects, academic exchanges, and deeper cooperation between universities across countries.

Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University thanks the partners from the EDUC alliance for the invitation to participate in the forum and the opportunity to join the international dialogue on the future of higher education.
