A meeting was held at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University as part of the project “Alumni Insights: Guest Studios” – a performance interview with the famous Ukrainian actor and director Oleksiy Hnatkovsky.
The guest was welcomed by the university rector, Valentyna Yakubiv, who noted the artist’s significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and emphasised that the university is proud of its graduates, who shape the country’s modern cultural space. She emphasised the importance of such meetings for students, as they allow them to learn from the experiences of successful professionals and be inspired by their paths.
During the meeting, Oleksiy Hnatkovsky shared his professional development story. He said he initially studied political science, but later realised his true calling and entered the Institute of Arts, where he began his journey in theatre and cinema. The actor emphasised that his diverse education helped him develop a broader vision of social processes and a deeper understanding of the role of art.
The guest of the event also spoke about his work at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Academic Drama Theatre named after Ivan Franko, his directorial projects, and the challenges faced by a modern artist. He emphasised that today the theatre is not only a space for creativity, but also a platform for social dialogue.
The students actively participated in the conversation, asking questions about the acting profession, creative pursuits, and sources of inspiration. In response, Oleksiy Hnatkovsky advised young people not to be afraid of change, to work hard, to constantly improve, and to remain sincere in their work. He also emphasised the importance of internal discipline and responsibility to the audience.
The meeting was moderated by Ulyana Leshko, a leading specialist in the stakeholder engagement department, who guided the dialogue and helped create an open atmosphere of communication.
The event brought together students, faculty, and all art lovers, becoming an important event for the university community. Participants had the opportunity not only to communicate with a famous artist, but also to more deeply experience the power of modern Ukrainian theatre and its importance in shaping cultural identity.
Thank you to the Stakeholder Engagement Department for organising and hosting a wonderful event!
