Beyond Borders: VSCNU Advances Global Education Standards through SUUN Program

Head of the research department, Iryna Hryhoruk, was selected to participate in the international program for the development of university internationalisation, implemented within the framework of the German-Ukrainian initiative SUUN at the University of Saarland, with support from the DAAD program. Only 10 representatives of Ukrainian higher education institutions were selected to participate.

The program began in January with online learning and will continue until November 2026. One of the key in-person stages took place from April 20 to 24 in Germany. Participants work with international experts on strategic development, quality management, digital transformation, international partnerships, and modern models of university internationalisation.

The SUUN initiative aims to strengthen academic ties between Germany and Ukraine, support the modernisation of Ukrainian higher education, enhance universities’ institutional capacity, and integrate them into the European educational space. An important component of the program is the exchange of practical experience between universities, the formation of new partnerships, and the creation of long-term cooperation mechanisms.

The final result of the program will be the development and presentation of its own Strategic Action Plan – a practical action plan for internationalisation, adapted to the needs and priorities of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University. The knowledge gained and solutions developed will contribute to the further development of the university’s international activities, expand participation in joint educational and scientific projects, and strengthen its position in the European academic environment.
