Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University is currently developing a University Development Strategy for 2027-2032. An important stage in this process was a strategic session attended by academic staff, which united the academic community around a shared vision for the university’s future.
The event was opened by the university’s rector, Valentyna Yakubiv, who emphasised the importance of involving teachers and researchers in the strategy-making process.
“It is the scientific and pedagogical staff who daily shape the academic environment of the university, work with students, and develop science and international cooperation. Therefore, the development strategy should reflect your experience, vision, and ambitions for the future of our university,” the rector emphasised.
The discussion focused on the quality of the professional environment, the conditions for teaching and research, and priorities for institutional development in the coming years.
The first block of work was an interactive session using Slido, during which participants identified key associations with the university of the future, outlined their main expectations of the professional environment, and expressed their vision for strategic changes.
The next stage was a SWOT analysis, during which academic staff analysed the strengths and weaknesses of the university environment and identified external opportunities and challenges that will affect the development of education, science, international activities, and partnerships.
A separate practical block was dedicated to the exercise “Ideal Professional Environment of the NPP”. The participants jointly formulated a vision of a modern academic space that combines academic freedom, research support, a balanced workload, the digitalisation of the educational process, comfortable working conditions, and opportunities for professional growth.
The event was moderated by Taras Malyshivsky, a lecturer at the Department of Management and Business Administration, who coordinated the groups and helped structure the ideas developed, ensuring a productive dialogue among the session participants.
The strategic session became an important platform for professional dialogue and the co-creation of the university’s future.
The ideas and proposals developed will serve as the basis for the next stages of developing the Development Strategy of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University for 2027-2032.
