An adaptation session for first-year students has begun at the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, the purpose of which was to familiarize new students with the university, its structure, main areas of activity, and the opportunities that student life offers.
The rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Valentyna Yakubiv, addressed the freshmen. She congratulated the students on the beginning of a new stage of their studies and wished them confidence, perseverance, successful adaptation to the university environment, and active participation in the life of the KNUVS.
The rector emphasized that the university is not only a place for acquiring professional knowledge, but also an environment for professional development, development of personal competencies, scientific and social activity. She called on first-year students to use the opportunities offered by the university, to be open to new knowledge and experience, to participate in projects, student initiatives, international programs and other events.
During the adaptation session, students were introduced to the university’s structure and the functions of its main departments. Head of the Human Resources Department, Tetyana Mykytyn, told the first-year students about the organization of the university’s work, its administrative structure, and the peculiarities of interaction between structural departments.
Special attention was paid to practical issues that are important for students at the beginning of their studies: where to contact with various inquiries, where to obtain the necessary information, which departments are responsible for the educational process, student self-government, international cooperation, scientific activities, digital services, social support, and organization of student leisure.
The first-year students were also informed about their rights and responsibilities, opportunities to participate in university and international projects, scientific events, cultural and sports initiatives. The importance of active communication with teachers, supervisors, administration, and relevant structural units of the university was also discussed.
The adaptation session has become an important stage in the entry of freshmen into the university environment. The information received will help students better navigate the structure of the KNUVS, take advantage of available opportunities, and confidently begin their journey in student life.
