Kateryna Kobuta, a translator at the Department of International Relations and an assistant at the Department of English Philology at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, represented the university as part of the Ukrainian delegation during a three-day press tour to key institutions of the European Union in Brussels. The event was organized by the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
As part of the programme, the participants visited the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European External Action Service. The delegation met with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, Valdis Dombrovskis and the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.
One of the key events of the press tour was the participation of the Ukrainian delegation in a press briefing, during which it was announced that a tranche of 6.1 billion euros would be allocated to support Ukraine’s defense.
During the meetings, issues of Ukraine’s European integration, support for educational and scientific programs, preservation of Ukrainian identity, as well as further development of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union were discussed.
Kateryna Kobuta also conducted personal interviews with Valdis Dombrovskis and Marta Kos. The press tour materials and prepared interviews will be published later.
The participation of the representative of the KNUVS in the international press tour became an important opportunity for professional exchange, deepening communication with European institutions, and representing the university in a broad international context.
