Shaping European Education: VSCNU Champions Quality Standards at EU Policy Event Moldova 2026

Head of the Project Management Department, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Tetyana Solodzhuk, participated in the international UE Policy Event, which was held from May 4 to 6 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, with the support of the Study in Europe program and the European Union.

The event brought together representatives of higher education institutions, education quality assurance experts, national Erasmus+ offices, and international partners to discuss current trends in the development of the European Higher Education Area, internationalisation, and practical aspects of international cooperation.

During the first day of the event, several important topics related to modern approaches to quality assurance in higher education were discussed, including:

  • review and transformation of standards and recommendations for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area in modern conditions (ESG);
  • national development of quality assurance systems in the context of ESG updates;
  • a systematic approach to quality assurance practices at the European Union level, in the Republic of Moldova, Estonia, Finland, Croatia and Ukraine.

Further attention was paid to opportunities for international cooperation within the Erasmus+ program. During the session “Opportunities for international cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus+ program”, representatives of the European Executive Agency for Education and Culture of the European Commission reported on relevant instruments for supporting international academic cooperation, in particular: international credit mobility, Erasmus Mundus, and Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE). In particular, they presented the key features of the programs, funding opportunities, participation rules, and practical aspects of preparing project applications.

The practical session covered: the main steps in establishing international cooperation; forming effective partnerships between universities; creating management structures for implementing international projects; and practical challenges and successful cases of participation in Erasmus+. During the panel discussion “Practical Challenges of Participation in Erasmus+ Events”, representatives of universities in Ukraine, Moldova, and Spain shared their experience in implementing international initiatives, developing internationalisation, participating in European university alliances, and overcoming practical challenges in international project implementation.

At the end of the event, participants held bilateral meetings with potential partners to discuss potential areas of cooperation, prepare joint project initiatives, and develop international academic ties.

Participation in such international events is an important platform for professional development, the exchange of experience, and the expansion of the university’s international cooperation. VSCNU continues to participate in European educational initiatives actively, supporting the development of high-quality higher education and strengthening international partnerships and integration into the European Educational Space.
