Today, a draw was held at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University as part of preparations for the All-Ukrainian student sports competitions “Side by Side. All-Ukrainian Student Leagues.”
The organisers were the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration and the Department of Sports and Youth Policy of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration.
The event marked the next stage of organisational preparations for the tournament, which will unite student teams from higher education institutions.
The university leadership, led by the rector Valentyna Yakubiv and the chairman of the academic council of the university, the chairman of the board of the sports student union in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ihor Tsependa, as well as representatives of other higher education institutions and government bodies, were present.
Participants emphasised the importance of developing student sports and interuniversity cooperation.
During the draw, the composition of the participating teams was determined, the dates of the competitions were agreed upon, and the sports locations where the matches would take place were determined.
The tournament format, regulations, and key organisational aspects were presented, allowing teams to better prepare for future games.
Those present had the opportunity to ask clarifying questions, discuss technical details, and review the competition schedule, which will contribute to a more coordinated game day.
The organisers wished the participants fair competition, sportsmanship, and bright results in future competitions.
The competition will start on April 17 with students from VSCNU and IFNTUNG competing in basketball.
