“Stefanyk Info Day” from the Faculty of Physics and Technology, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, and the Kolomyia Institute

An event was held at the Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute, aimed at introducing future applicants to the university’s opportunities, and was conducted in an engaging and interactive format. The event was opened by Olga Vasylivna Slipanyuk, the director of the institute, who addressed the students with a welcoming speech, emphasising the importance of making a conscious choice of future profession.

Next, the participants watched a presentation video about the university, which immersed them in the academic and cultural life of the institution. The next element of the program was a university quest, conducted by Maryana Danyliuk, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and event manager of the Career Centre.

Students enthusiastically completed tasks that introduced them to the faculties, structures, and features of education. No less exciting was the game about Vasyl Stefanyk, conducted by scientists Olga Rusakova and Oleksandr Soletskyi.

Intellectual tasks not only helped expand knowledge about the writer but also combined literature with interactive teaching methods. The “Stefanyk Info Day” was attended by students from Kolomyia lyceums No. 6, No. 2, No. 9, and No. 8, as well as the students of  Kolomyia Medical College. The Faculty of Physics and Technology was represented by Volodymyr Hryga, associate professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics. He introduced the students to the educational programs of the Faculty of Physics and Technology and spoke about the opportunities for practice and internships.

Students had the opportunity to see the work of a digital microscope, try to control the elements of the “smart home” model, and complete thematic quests on physics and electronics – all of which caused sincere delight and active discussion. The Faculty of Foreign Languages was presented by Inna Lisovska, assistant professor of the Department of English Philology, and student Maryana Danylyuk. They organised a quest and interactive tasks that allowed students to get acquainted with the educational process, the features of the faculty, and opportunities to participate in international programs, language practices, and projects.

Scientists from the Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute, Oksana Poyasyk, Mykola Vasylchuk, and Oksana Kovalchuk, a leading specialist at the Pokutskaya Trinity Research Centre, together with students, prepared interactive presentations and mini-workshops where students could try their hand at being philologists and primary school teachers.

Teachers Maria Chepil and Vasyl Mykhasiuk held various types of sports competitions with the attendees.

The event was hosted by the institute’s senator, Khrystyna Tymkiv, a student in the Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature) speciality, and Solomiya Lazaruk, a student in the Secondary Education (Physical Education) speciality.

Student Maria Hudymyak greeted those present with a song about Ukraine.

The event was easy, dynamic, and inspiring. The event provided students with a unique opportunity to observe the educational process firsthand, learn about the various specialities and faculties, and experience the atmosphere of student life. This is an essential component of a conscious professional choice for future entrants.
