A graduate student of the VSCNU joined the work of an international delegation at the BRASS hospital

Maria Baziv, a first-year graduate student in the B11 “Philology” speciality at the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, joined the translation support of the visit of an international delegation of military attaches to the First Volunteer Surgical Hospital “BRASS” – a medical institution that has become an important centre of assistance to military and civilian patients in wartime.

Representatives of diplomatic and military missions from European and Asian countries arrived in Ivano-Frankivsk on an official visit to get acquainted with the hospital’s work and learn from the experience of Ukrainian doctors. Among the delegation members were the President of KAVA, the Military Attaché of the Republic of Poland, Colonel Dariusz Slota, the Military Advisor to the EU Delegation, Colonel Jaak Mee, as well as the military attaches of India, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Vietnam, Croatia and Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the international delegation learned about the hospital’s activities, the work of medical staff and volunteer teams who provide daily assistance to those in need. Special attention was paid to modern approaches to treatment, rehabilitation, and complex operations for wounded soldiers.

The participation of a university graduate student in ensuring intercultural communication during events of this level is evidence of high professional training and practical application of translation competencies in real conditions of international interaction.

Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University supports the participation of students, postgraduates, and faculty in socially important initiatives that foster international cooperation, the volunteer movement, and the professional development of young professionals.
