As part of the 35th Economic Forum in Karpacz, the rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Valentyna Yakubiv, took part in the panel discussion “Women in Science and Politics.”
During the discussion, Valentyna Yakubiv presented the Ukrainian experience and spoke about progress in expanding women’s participation in scientific, managerial, social, and political activities.
The rector paid special attention to the role of Ukrainian women in the conditions of a full-scale war. Today, they perform a wide range of important social roles – they defend Ukraine and serve in the Defense Forces, save lives, lead institutions and territorial communities, develop science, education and business, engage in volunteer activities and support their families.
Ukrainian women not only ensure the stability of the state in times of war, but also actively shape its future, participating in decision-making and the development of key areas of public life.
Valentyna Yakubiv emphasized that the participation of women in science and politics is not only a matter of equal opportunities, but also an important prerequisite for making strong, responsible, and far-sighted decisions.
“If we do not take into account the opinion of women, who make up half of society, the state loses half of its potential for development,” the rector noted.
Valentyna Yakubiv’s participation in the international discussion was an opportunity to present the Ukrainian experience at one of the largest economic and socio-political forums in Central Europe and to draw attention to the role of women in shaping the scientific, managerial, and social potential of the state.
