Carpathian University expands cooperation for the social adaptation of veterans

A meeting was held at  Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University between the rector, Valentyna Yakubiv, and the chairman of the board of the public organisation “Cultural and Educational Society of the Disabled “UMG, Andriy Filipchuk.

During the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership to support war veterans.

The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Academic Council, Ihor Tsependa, the Head of the Stakeholder Relations Department, Tetyana Mykytyn, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​, Nataliya Yatskiv, the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​, Alla Boychuk, the Head of the Department of General and Germanic Linguistics, Oleksiy Vorobets, and the English teacher Michael Levin.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish a systemic interaction between the university and a public organisation for social adaptation, educational support, and professional rehabilitation of veterans.

This partnership involves the joint development and implementation of training programs, including language training (English), digital competence development, entrepreneurial skills development, and other educational initiatives aimed at increasing the competitiveness of veterans in the modern labour market.

The parties will pay special attention to creating an inclusive educational environment, implementing modern approaches to adult education (andragogy), and providing conditions for psychological support and mental recovery for veterans.

The signing of the Memorandum was an important step toward expanding the university’s partner network and confirming its social responsibility and active participation in the restoration and support of the defenders of Ukraine.
