University – communities – youth: a new stage of partnership within the framework of the project “Community Creator. Prykarpattia”

Valentyna Yakubiv, Rector of  Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, took part in the Youth Forum, which was held within the framework of the educational and professional project “Civic Creator. Prykarpattia”. The project is implemented in partnership with the Ivano-Frankivsk regional branch of the AMU and the Department of Public Management and Administration of the university.

The Forum was also joined by students from the Department of Accounting and Taxation, the Department of Management and Business Administration, the Department of International Economic Relations, and other departments of our university.

The event at the Potocki Palace brought together active youth, representatives of local government, business, the public sector, and the educational community. The forum became a crucial platform for enhancing the university’s engagement with the local communities of the Carpathian region.

As part of the event, rector Valentyna Yakubiv signed a letter of intent to cooperate with five new communities that joined the “Community Creator. Prykarpattia” project:

– Pasichnyanska territorial community;

– Dubovets territorial community;

– Tysmenytsia territorial community;

– Rohatyn territorial community;

– Burshtyn territorial community.

Thus, ten communities in the region have already joined the initiative – an indicator of the high demand for training specialists in the field of public administration and interest in youth development.

In her welcoming speech, Valentyna Yakubiv emphasized the importance of supporting youth initiatives and forming a new generation of community leaders. She emphasized that the project “Community Creator. Prykarpattia” is an effective tool for the development of dual education, as it combines academic training of students with real practices of local self-government.

During the panel discussion “From Community to State: How the Future of Ukraine is Being Shaped,” the rector joined the discussion of the needs of communities in modern specialists, the role of youth in the development of regions, and the importance of practical competencies in the field of public administration.

Together with her, the discussion was attended by People’s Deputy of Ukraine Eduard Proshchuk, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykola Trofymenko, and Commander of the 50th Regiment of the Semyon Vysochan National Military University Vadym Linevsky.

The active discussion continued during the panel “Youth and Communities: A New Generation of Leaders”, which featured speeches by Kalush City Mayor Andriy Nayda, Secretary of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council Viktor Synyshyn, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the CNU Dmytro Romanyuk, and priest and blogger Yulian Tymchuk.

In the discussion panel “Business and Youth: Partnership for the Development of the Region”, business leaders of the region presented their ideas: Anna Berlin (TM “Rybak”), Olga Demyaniv (“SINT-Master”), Ruslan Tereshko, General Director of PJSC “Ivano-Frankivsk Locomotive Repair Plant”.

The Forum program included master classes, interactive sessions, and a presentation of the course “Community Creator. Prykarpattia”.

The event concluded with an inspiring dialogue between the participants and volunteer, public figure, and founder of the charitable foundation Serhiy Prytula.

The Forum “Community Creator. Prykarpattia” demonstrated how the synergy of education, government, business, and the public sector forms a new culture of youth leadership and creates added value for the development of territorial communities.
