A special, truly warm and atmospheric event took place at Carpathian National University – the initiation of first-year students into the student family of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, which this year was timed to an important event – the 55th anniversary of the faculty.
The celebration was a vivid combination of traditions, creativity, and true student drive. The organization of the event was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of the student trade union and the faculty senate, who united to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the faculty and give the first-year students an unforgettable start to their university life.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Eduard Lapkovsky addressed the NPP and the students with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of the first steps in student life and the support that the university is always ready to provide to young people. After him, the floor was given to the dean of the faculty, Natalia Yatskiv, who emphasized the role of the FFL as a community where traditions, development and team spirit are valued. The heads of departments: Yakiv Bystrov, Andriy Vengrinovych and Olga Bihun, who wished the freshmen inspiration, courage and love for languages from the first days of study, also joined the solemn congratulations.
Having created a warm and friendly atmosphere, the deputy dean of the faculty, Natalia Pylyachyk, began the concert and introduced the hosts of the celebration – faculty senator Vitalia Khatsevich and her deputy, Maryana Danyliuk, as well as the head of the student trade union, Valeria Merts, who created a feeling of lightness, drive, and good humor on stage.
In addition to interactive activities, quizzes and fun activities from the presenters, the real highlight of the event was the performances of all the groups of the first year of the FFL. Absolutely every group presented themselves on stage – creatively, sincerely and very brightly. These were dance numbers, vocal performances, acting performances, even a mini-series of the program “The Bachelor”. The performances were so creative that the hall exploded with applause several times. It was clear that the first-year students did not just prepare – they put their soul into making themselves known and adequately presenting all the specialties.
After all the presentations were completed, the faculty jury announced the results. And most importantly: all teams, without exception, were awarded faculty certificates. Dozens of nominations were created — from “Most Creative” to “Most Artistic”, “Most Musical”, “Most Original” and many others. This is how every first-year student felt like a part of a big event.
The culmination of the evening was the performance of the student “Philologist’s Oath” and the philologist student anthem – with humor, love of languages, and true youth spirit.
The celebration ended with the melody of the song “The Best”, to which everyone danced – freshmen, seniors, and teachers. This created a feeling of complete unity among the generations of the faculty.
This event is a symbol of the fact that the Faculty of Foreign Languages lives and develops thanks to its students, teachers, and traditions, which are already 55 years old.
