This year, the ranking includes 15 of the best higher education institutions in Ukraine, among which our university took 3rd place. This is undoubtedly a significant achievement for the scientific community, providing evidence of the high level of interdisciplinary research that is being conducted. In general, CNU occupies 801+ position in the second edition of the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR) 2026.
The Interdisciplinary Science Rankings is a prestigious international ranking that evaluates universities based on the level of interdisciplinary scientific research, its practical relevance and impact on global challenges. Key criteria include the number of publications in highly ranked journals, the level of international collaboration and the implementation of innovations.
Participation in this ranking not only confirms the high quality of the university’s scientific research, but also opens up new opportunities for international cooperation and attracting grant programs.
The ranking is based on three leading indicators reflecting the stages of the life cycle of scientific projects, focusing on the number and quality of scientific publications, research funding, and support for research teams:
- Input (19%): Funding for interdisciplinary research and collaboration with industry is assessed.
- Process (16%): Administrative support, infrastructure for interdisciplinary teams, and the presence of a reward system for interdisciplinary achievements are assessed.
- Results (65%): The number and quality of scientific publications, their impact beyond disciplines, and the reputation of the university in the scientific community.
In particular, Carpathian University has been recognised for:
- Funding interdisciplinary science and partnerships with industry;
- Innovative physical and administrative resources to support interdisciplinary research;
- The quality of scientific publications and their impact beyond individual disciplines.
We express our gratitude to all the teachers, researchers, and students who contributed to this result. The university’s success confirms our commitment to innovation and scientific progress.
