The training “University of the Future: Secrets of Successful Management in Education” is based on the Academic Managers Professional Development Program, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the World Bank, and the British Council. Its goal is to provide the university community with modern, practical, and time-tested management tools.
On November 6, a Module dedicated to communication took place. It was conducted by Tetyana Hulyak, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, and Nelya Dolynko, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy, Rehabilitation and Morphology, Deputy Executive Secretary of the University Admissions Committee.
Eduard Lapkovsky, Iryna Solonets, Yuriy Mykytyn, Maria Marcinkiv, and Oksana Chuyko participated in the development of the module. The focus of the training was communication.
Session 1 was dedicated to internal communication, focusing on the interaction between departments, faculty, students, and administration.
We discussed clear channels, clear rules for information exchange, team coherence, and a culture of open dialogue, all of which are essential for effective management.
Session 2 focused on external communications – the university’s interactions with applicants, parents, school principals, employers, communities, and partner organisations.
Participants analysed how to craft compelling and straightforward messages, build trust, and maintain lasting connections with key external audiences.
The training combined theoretical approaches with practical exercises, helping teachers view communication as a strategic tool in their daily work.
The module was a continuation of the first meeting of the cycle, preparing participants for the following topics: strategy, personnel management, and finance in education.
