As part of the socio-educational project “Language That Supports,” the first free English class for veterans and their family members was held.
The project was initiated by the teachers of the Department of English Philology as a practical continuation of the training for scientific and pedagogical staff “University of the Future”, conducted by the administration of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.
It is implemented with the support of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in cooperation with the NGO “Ukrainian Youth Group” and the veteran space “VeteranPro”.
The main goal is not only to teach English, but above all to create a friendly, trusting atmosphere that will help calm the heart, overcome the effects of experienced stress, and promote effective social adaptation.
Classes will run from April 15 to June 15, twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening at the VeteranPro facility.
Before the start of training, an entrance test was conducted to determine language proficiency, enabling the creation of comfortable learning conditions.
The educational process is provided by the Department of English Philology’s teachers: associate professors Nataliya Pylyachyk and Iryna Malyshivska, and assistant Inna Lisovska.
Students of the speciality 014 Secondary Education (English Language and Literature), Khrystyna Gutsman and Volodymyra Masliy, are also involved in conducting the classes, helping to create an interactive environment and promoting open communication.
The “Supportive Language” project demonstrates how the university community can put the knowledge gained through professional training into practice, combining educational activities with an important social mission: supporting those who need it most.
