A strategic session with students on the development of the university was held at the CNU

A strategic session with university students was held at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University to discuss ways to develop the university environment and improve the student experience.

At the beginning of the event, the university’s rector, Valentyna Yakubiv, welcomed the participants. She emphasised the importance of active student participation in shaping the university’s strategic development. She stressed that young people’s opinions are an important component in creating a modern educational space focused on students’ needs.

The strategic session was moderated by Taras Malyshivsky, a lecturer at the Department of Management and Business Administration, Deputy Head of the Expert Group for University Strategy Development. During the meeting, participants worked in an open dialogue and team-based format, discussing current challenges and opportunities for developing the university environment.

During the session, students conducted a SWOT analysis, identifying the university’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats for further development. This work format allowed participants to comprehensively assess various aspects of student life – from the educational process to extracurricular activities and communication between students and teachers.

Special attention was paid to improving the student experience. Participants generated several ideas and proposals to improve the educational environment, develop student initiatives, and strengthen interaction among all members of the university community.

In addition, using the character method, students created a generalised portrait of an ideal teacher. During the discussion, participants identified key professional and personal qualities that contribute to effective teaching, partner communication, and the formation of trust between teachers and students.

The strategic session was an important step in engaging the student community in the university’s strategic planning for development. The results of the discussions and ideas developed during the meeting will be taken into account in further work on forming the development strategy of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.
