In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated March 5, 2026 No. 412 “On the organization of financing by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of scientific and scientific-technical activities of higher education institutions and scientific institutions taking into account the results of their state certification”, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University is provided with UAH 19.25 million in basic financing for scientific activities in 2026.
Funding is determined based on the results of state certification of the university’s scientific activities and is aimed at supporting the institution’s research potential.
Distribution of funding by scientific areas: Natural and mathematical areas (certification group A) – 7.53 million UAH, including:
• UAH 4.87 million – stimulation of the best scientific units;
• UAH 1.55 million – development of research infrastructure;
• UAH 1.10 million – university development.
Humanitarian and artistic direction (certification group B) – 11.72 million UAH, including:
• 7.66 million UAH – stimulation of the best scientific units;
• UAH 2.42 million – development of research infrastructure;
• UAH 1.64 million – university development.
Funding is directed to:
• supporting strong scientific units – rewarding and stimulating effective research teams;
• development of research infrastructure – updating equipment, laboratories and research centres;
• institutional development of the university – supporting research and launching new scientific projects.
The funding received will contribute to the further development of scientific research, strengthen the research infrastructure, and increase the university’s competitiveness in the national and international scientific space.
