
Today, January 8, the rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Valentyna Yakubiv, met with the executive director of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional branch of the Association of Cities of Ukraine, Bohdan Klymyuk, the head of the Delyatyn territorial community, and Taras Manoryk, the head of the Broshniv-Osad territorial community.
During the meeting, the parties discussed and signed a memorandum of cooperation. Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Olga Zhuk and Project Manager of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, Svitlana Ivasyshyn, also attended the conversation.
The memorandum aims to establish a partnership to implement the educational and professional project “Civic Creator. Prykarpattia”, which creates a platform for training a new generation of specialists capable of working effectively in local government bodies.
The intention is open: other territorial communities, educational institutions, and organisations that support the project’s goals are welcome to join.
The memorandum provides for:
- holding the Forum “Community Creator. Prykarpattia”;
- studying the personnel needs of territorial communities in the field of public administration;
- selection of students and young professionals to participate in a five-day intensive training program;
- organisation of individual educational programs for students to acquire the competencies necessary for working in communities;
- conducting internships and involving course participants in the personnel reserve or employment in relevant local government bodies; students completing practical and project tasks aimed at addressing the current needs of communities;
- scaling the educational and professional project “Community Creator” to other communities and partner organisations.
Carpathian National University emphasises that such cooperation contributes to the development of the region, the formation of competent specialists, and the strengthening of ties between education and local communities.
