Valentyna Yakubiv, Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, participated in the celebrations commemorating the Day of Local Self-Government in Ukraine. The event began with the Holy Liturgy for peace in Ukraine and our soldiers in Starun at the Blessed Simeon Lukach Respite Centre.
The liturgical service was performed by the Metropolitan and Archbishop of Ivano-Frankivsk of the UGCC, Bishop Volodymyr Viityshyn.
On behalf of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Rector Valentyna Yakubiv presented certificates of congratulations and thanks for leadership, cooperation, and strengthening local democracy to the heads of communities:
– Ivano-Frankivsk City Mayor Ruslan Marcinkiv,
– to the head of the Zabolotiv settlement community, Petr Maliborsky,
– to the head of the Tysmenytsia city community, Tetyana Gradyuk, as well as to the executive director of the regional Ivano-Frankivsk branch of the AMU, Yuriy Stefanchuk.
A separate intellectual event was the presentation of the book “Local Self-Government of Precarpathia: From Origins to a European Perspective”, the analytical content and historical references for which were prepared by scientists from our university, in particular from the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations and the Faculty of Management.
The event demonstrated the university’s active participation in the “education-community” partnership, the integration of European norms into regional governance, and the joint strengthening of the institutional capacity of the Carpathian region.
