Today, another meeting of the Academic Council was held at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.
During the meeting, several issues were addressed in accordance with the agenda. In particular, the Acting Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Kyiv National University, Professor Ihor Tsependa, reported on the results of the 2025 admission campaign, its main trends and prospects for further development.
He noted the consistently high level of applicants’ trust in the university, the growth in the number of applicants to prestigious specialties, the active participation of faculties in career guidance activities, and emphasized that effective communication with future students, the expansion of international educational programs, and the development of modern educational infrastructure remain among the university’s priority areas of activity.
The deans of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Tourism, Nataliya Yatskiv and Volodymyr Velikochy, as well as the director of the KNUVD College, Yuriy Moskalenko, participated in the discussion of the rector’s report on the 2025 admission campaign. Using the example of their own units, they analyzed activities at all stages of admission and provided their suggestions for strengthening weaknesses in further work.
In turn, the Director of the Educational and Scientific Center for Professional Career and Lifelong Education, Associate Professor Halyna Voloshchuk, and the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Associate Professor Nelya Dolynko, presented to the staff the career guidance work plan for the 2025–2026 academic year and measures to prepare for the 2026 admission campaign.
Halyna Voloshchuk presented the strategic vision of the career guidance system, and Nelya Dolynko introduced the attendees to the project “Career Track of the Entrant”.
During their speeches, they especially emphasized that career guidance activities are an important component of the university’s daily work, because it is they who shape a conscious choice of profession and contribute to the early involvement of young people in scientific, creative, and social activities.
“Today we are presenting the career guidance plan of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian University for 2026. This is not just a set of measures, but a holistic strategic system that combines analytics, communications, career counseling, and interaction with schools. I would like to note that the concept of this strategy was developed and proposed by Yana Stadilna, a member of the University’s Supervisory Board, who is the author of the idea of building a modern career guidance system,” emphasized Halyna Voloshchuk, adding that the system should work as a single, coordinated mechanism in which each person understands their area of work, their interaction with others, and their specific tasks and goals.
She also noted that today there is a healthy competition between faculties for applicants: “And that’s right. But it should not turn into internal competition – only into competition for quality, creativity, and results.”
The updated career guidance strategies incorporate new approaches: career guidance is viewed as a continuous career path, we use analytics and sociology for planning, and we actively involve business and international partners in joint initiatives.
The expected effect is to increase trust in our university among students and parents, strengthen the image of the university as a space of opportunities, and form a sustainable community of alumni.
To implement the strategy, a clear system architecture has been developed: the Education Navigation Center (ENC) — Halyna Voloshchuk’s team (faculty career guidance coordinators, student ambassadors, content management, event management, school coordinator) and the Admissions Committee (AC) with all the components of its work and the new project “Career Track of the Entrant” coordinated by Neli Dolynko (career consultants, employer and alumni manager, admissions manager).
Such a model will ensure synchronization of career guidance processes and avoid duplication.
