“Iron Shift” at Carpathian University: A Day of Discovery, Games, and Inspiration

Carpathian University served as a platform for meetings, development, and new experiences for 60 participants in the “Iron Change” project. Throughout the day, schoolchildren discovered the faculties, communicated with scientists and students, and tested their own strength in intellectual and creative activities.

At the Faculty of Education, researchers Maryana Dereniuk and Taras Paska, together with students Ilona Bandura and Vasylyna Katerniak, conducted the interactive games “Critical Move” and “Media Tower”.

Participants developed analysis and decision-making skills, learned to distinguish between facts, fakes, and judgments, worked in teams, and defended their own opinions with arguments. At the Department of Speech Therapy and Innovative Technologies in Inclusion, scientist Mykola Popʼyuk, together with students Alina Dumenchuk, Ioanna Martyshchuk, and Lydia Molnar, held a quiz called “The Role of a Speech Therapist in the Development of Children’s Language.”

The students learned more about the importance of the speech therapist profession and modern approaches to supporting speech development. The chemical experiments conducted by the director of the Centre for Innovative Teaching Methods, Lilia Midak, and the centre’s scientist, Olga Kuzyshyn, also left a vivid impression.

The experiments combined science and emotions, proving that learning can be exciting and spectacular. The Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​prepared a real language journey for the guests.

Scientists  Inna Lisovska, Tetyana Marchuk,  Svitlana Garbera,  Natalia Lutsyk, Bohdana Petryshak, and student  Vitalia Khatsevych organised the game Who am I?, assembling a puzzle map of Spanish-speaking countries, a translation game in German, and an intellectual game in French.

Participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge and creativity and to experience the atmosphere of multilingualism. Career Centre representatives Mariana Danyliuk and Iryna Vorobets conducted a quest about the university for students, and the event was moderated by the Career Centre’s Director, Halyna Voloshchuk, creating a friendly and inspiring atmosphere for communication.

Children from Poltava, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Kherson sincerely shared their impressions and admitted that they would definitely return to our university – already as applicants. “Iron Change” in Karpatsky became not just an encounter with the faculties, but a day of discoveries that inspire conscious choice for the future.
