Inter-university cooperation: Carpathian and Kherson universities outlined shared priorities

A working meeting was held between the rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Valentyna Yakubiv, vice-rectors and the chairman of the Academic Council, Ihor Tsependa, with the leadership of Kherson State University, headed by the rector, Oleksandr Spivakovskyi.

During the meeting, Valentyna Yakubiv presented the updated composition of the university’s vice-rectors, outlined the key areas of their activity and the institution’s development priorities. In particular, the topic was improving management processes, developing educational programs in accordance with modern challenges, strengthening the scientific component, expanding international cooperation, and intensifying grant activities.

The rector emphasised the importance of effective teamwork, openness to partnership, and the formation of joint inter-university initiatives that will improve the quality of education and the competitiveness of both institutions.

Oleksandr Spivakovsky shared his experience managing a university during relocation. He spoke about the challenges Kherson State University has faced for several years, as well as the institution’s strategic development goals. In particular, the topic was preserving academic potential, supporting students and teachers, digitalising the educational process, implementing innovative approaches to learning, and forming new partnerships for the sustainable development of the university under challenging conditions.

The Chairman of the Academic Council of the VSCNU, Ihor Tsependa, focused on the synergy between the two universities, the development of joint educational programs and scientific projects, and participation in national and international grant initiatives.

Separately, Igor Tsependa reported on the strategic vision of the partnership – the formation of a new idea of ​​interaction within the framework of the “Carpathians – Black Sea” concept, which can become the basis for the creation of unique interregional educational and scientific programs. In the future, this opens up opportunities for joint participation in grant competitions and for implementing large-scale projects that can strengthen the positions of both universities at the national and international levels.

The meeting participants discussed the strengths of the faculties of both institutions, opportunities for academic and internal economic mobility, and deepening cooperation between the departments.

Summing up the meeting, the parties emphasised the importance of effective management, timely response to challenges, and mutual support. The working meeting took place in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and mutual understanding and became another step towards deepening the partnership between the universities.
