The University held the 1st All-Ukrainian Competition of Scientific and Educational Publications “Ukrainian Socio-Humanities”

Today, the first All-Ukrainian (national) competition of scientific and educational publications, “Ukrainian Socio-Humanities,” officially began at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University. In addition to the university, the Ukrainian Publishing Association, the Ukrainian Library Association, the Helvetica Publishing House, and the Centre for Ukrainian-European Scientific Cooperation joined in organising the event.

The competition is designed to support scholars, teachers, graduate students, and practitioners working in the fields of political science, history and archaeology, philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, religious studies, philology, and journalism.

The participants were welcomed by the Chairman of the Academic Council of Carpathian University, Professor Ihor Tsependa, who emphasised the importance of socio-humanitarian research:
“The activities of such publishing houses are truly multifaceted, because the focus of our attention is modern socio-humanitarian studies. That is why the emphasis of this competition is on the socio-humanitarian direction, to once again emphasise its importance and attract wider attention to it. This is the first competition that offers scientists from various universities in Ukraine the opportunity to present their publications, share the results of their own research, and unite a community of like-minded individuals. We are already thinking about how to expand this project in the future. I am convinced that this competition will become a good tradition for years to come, creating new opportunities for meetings, exchange of ideas, and the development of socio-humanitarian science.”

Also invited to speak were Oleg Holovko (Candidate of Economics, Founder and Director of the Helvetica Publishing House, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Center for Ukrainian-European Scientific Cooperation), Serhiy Taran (Candidate of Economics, Head of the Department of the Directorate for the Development of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine), and Oksana Bruy (Candidate of Social Communications, President of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Ukrainian Library Association”).

The competition has become a significant event in Ukraine’s educational and scientific sphere, as it has created a platform for recognising scientists, teachers, researchers, and young scientists, as well as for exchanging experiences to develop the humanities further. The competition aims to contribute to the publication of scientific literature by annually recognising the best specialists in the field of socio-humanities. Its founders plan to expand the number of scientific publications in Ukraine and popularise them by attracting new co-organisers and the broader scientific community.

The awarding of honorary diplomas and commemorative plaques was conducted by Professor Ihor Tsependa, Chairman of the Nomination Committee, and Oleh Holovko, who attended the award ceremony. The participation of university representatives and publishing communities gave the event a special solemnity and emphasised the joint support for the humanities.

Participants had the opportunity to join the ceremony both in person and remotely, which ensured a broad representation of scientists from different regions of the country.

Winners were determined in 29 categories, ranging from individual and collective monographs to educational publications and scholarly journals. All eight key fields of the humanities were fully represented: political science, history and archaeology, philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, religious studies, philology, and journalism.
