
On November 12, Ihor Tsependa, Acting Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, took part in the module “Strategizing in Uncertainty” of the Academic Managers Professional Development Program, which is implemented by the British Council within the framework of the joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the World Bank “Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results.”
The event took place on the campus of Mariupol State University in Kyiv, which is one of the three locations for the program.
During the session “Conversation with a Practitioner”, Igor Tsependa shared his experience of strategic university management in times of transformation and challenges, emphasising the importance of flexibility, trust in the team, and the development of international partnerships.
The meeting was moderated by Tetyana Marena, the Acting Rector of Mariupol State University, who emphasised the need to create a space for exchanging management practices between university heads in Ukraine.
The Academic Managers Professional Development Program is designed to support leaders of higher education institutions in forming a strategic vision, enhancing the effectiveness of management decisions, and promoting institutional sustainability in Ukrainian universities.
